Artist Submissions

Our annual submission deadline is March 1. However, please note that because we generally programme our festival well over a year in advance, submissions will not necessarily be considered for the calendar year in which they are received.

Please be aware that our Festival is specifically aimed at promoting innovative, cutting-edge forms of jazz and creative improvised music - other jazz forms are less likely to be considered for this Festival. Please note also that we offer a very limited number of programming opportunities in any given year.

International artists are, whenever possible, encouraged to seek travel or touring support from relevant embassies and cultural organizations. Canadian touring artists from outside of Ontario are encouraged to seek travel and touring support from the Canada Council for the Arts.

In your submission to The Guelph Jazz Festival, please include

  • A CD or CDR clearly labeled
  • A brief description of your music and/or short biographical materials
  • your contact information
  • The names of all performing musicians and their instruments

All submissions should be addressed to: Ajay Heble, Artistic Director, The Guelph Jazz Festival, 123 Woolwich St, Second Floor, Guelph, ON, N1H 3V1, CANADA

Telephone: 519-763-4952, Fax: 519-763-3155

Please note that because of the high volume of submissions we receive, we will not be able to respond to each applicant personally. Only successful applicants will be contacted.

We are also unable to return any application packages - please do not send us your only copy! Unless you tell us otherwise, unsolicited CDs may be donated to local libraries or campus community radio stations.
