1. GJF single tickets and festival passes now on sale
Tickets for the upcoming Guelph Jazz Festival went on sale last Friday. How do you select the concerts you want to attend and buy tickets? Go to www.guelphjazzfestival.com for all details.
The Festival includes 12 ticketed and 11 free concerts, plus free workshops, concerts and panel discussions in the Colloquium. (Tickets are not required for the free events.)
Single tickets can be purchased on-line, by phone, or in person. They range in price from $20–$40 (adults) / $15–$35 (students & seniors). Also available is an all-inclusive Festival pass, to be sold in limited numbers ($200 before Aug. 1, 2008, $250 after Aug. 1, with no age discounts).
We have three ticket vendors this year:
• The River Run Centre in Guelph (for online, phone or in-person sales, both single tickets and passes)
• The Bookshelf in Guelph (for in-person, single ticket sales only)
• Soundscapes Music in Toronto (for in-person, single ticket sales only)
Buy your tickets early if you want a festival pass, or if you want the best seats for the 6 assigned seating concerts at the River Run Centre venues (all other concerts, both ticketed and free, are general admission).
2. Festival volunteers wanted!
The Guelph Jazz Festival is a vibrant, community-based event where volunteers have the opportunity to lend their talents, learn new skills and work together in a safe and welcoming atmosphere. Volunteering with the Festival is an enriching and rewarding experience, and a wonderful way to give back to the Guelph community. Each season more than 150 volunteers provide essential services for the Festival. In return, each volunteer receives:
• A Festival Volunteer t-shirt
• Free entry to selected Festival performances (one ticket per every six volunteer hours completed)
• An invitation to our post-Festival volunteer party (to be held in late September)
For more information and for a volunteer application form, go here or send an email to: .
3. GJF program advertisers also wanted
The key reference point for everyone attending the Guelph Festival is our 80-page program book. It has all the concerts, a detailed schedule, bios and photos of all performers, a map, a restaurant guide, and much more.
If you’re an advertiser, it’s an ideal way to reach our 10,000-strong Festival audience, about half of whom are visiting from out of town.
To advertise in the Festival program, call Thomas Silvani at the GJF office (519-763-4952) or send him an . The program rate card is also available here.

Satoko Fujii ma-do
Pianist Sakoko Fujii’s ma-do is a brand new quartet, including her husband Natsuki Tamura on trumpet, has just recorded in April 2008. We expect tremendous things from Satoko Fujii – as thoughtful, rigorous and expressive an artist as they come in contemporary music.
