Rainforest: Guelph by David Tudor, realized by Ben Grossman

Rainforest: Guelph is a collaborative reinterpretation of David Tudor's work from the 1970s using transducers and pickups attached to various objects to expose their hidden resonant spirits.  Essentially an improvised, experimental, complex system, the performers, artists and public will collaborate in the continuous evolution of an ever-shifting soundscape.  Sound generation, treatment through the objects, physical intervention and an interactive signal routing system invite explorations of relationships between the performers, public and the technology that will bring them into dialogue with the objects and eachother.  Artists from Guelph and area are invited to donate or loan objects of their own creation or selection for use in Rainforest: Guelph, exposing acoustic dimensions to their original artworks or 'readymades'.
