Second act of a double bill with TILTING - Nicolas Caloia Quartet (Québec).
This geographically dispersed trio features three long-time friends of the Guelph Jazz Festival. Swiss-based American drummer, Gerry Hemingway, one of the subtlest and most diversely propulsive percussionists anywhere, has played numerous times in Guelph since his first visit in 1996. William Parker is also a regular visitor to Guelph, where he's rightfully celebrated as the dean of free-jazz bass playing. Vancouver pianist, Paul Plimley, possesses a quicksilver imagination and boundless energy with the piano technique to match. This trio is a meeting of three key ambassadors in the global scene of improvised music, and their collaboration promises both considerable subtlety and wild abandon.
