Performers
Lotte Anker, Craig Taborn & Gerald Cleaver (Denmark / USA)
First act of a double-bill with the Necks (Australia).
This group, with two records under its belt, is a seasoned and deeply communicative improvisation trio. Danish saxophonist Lotte Anker has carefully crafted a style that carves out her unique place within the great post-John Coltrane and Wayne Shorter tradition. Craig Taborn is one of the most exciting jazz pianists today, and contributes his polymath artistry to collaborations with giants like Roscoe Mitchell and William Parker. Likewise, drummer Gerald Cleaver has a long and varied résumé that reflects his pan-stylistic mastery of the drums and his boundless appetite for creative music-making.
